Led by Sudafest, the Bath Refugee Festival celebrated the contributions, cultures, and voices of refugees and migrants in Bath.
Held at the iconic Fairfield House — once the residence of Emperor Haile Selassie — the festival took place in June 2025, aligning with the national Refugee Week theme Community as a Superpower.
The event drew an amazing audience of over 400 people for a vibrant day of music, food, creative workshops, storytelling, and powerful discussions. Performances represented cultures from Sudan, Palestine, Ukraine, Syria, Ethiopia and beyond, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and celebration.
This landmark festival grew out of months of collaboration. An initial planning meeting brought together over 25 individuals from Bath and the surrounding area, all connected to the refugee cause through professional work, lived experience, or a shared commitment to humanitarian support. Their ideas and networks shaped a programme that truly reflected Bath’s spirit of welcome.
With such an inspiring first edition, the Bath Refugee Festival now aims to become an annual celebration, continuing to highlight resilience, creativity, and the power of community.
You can also join Bath Refugee Festival’s Network, where your name and organisation will be shared with other members to help shape ideas and foster collaboration.
